Borrowing at the Library

Library Catalouge (OLIVER)

The school library uses OLIVER to manage student borrowing and to catalogue available resources.

The catalogue is avaliable for all users 24/7.

Students are actively encouraged to use the system to take responsibility for their borrowed items; to check their loans, overdues, renew and reserve books; and explore the many resources available to them.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the borrowing limits?

  • Year 7 & 8 - 2 items
  • Year 9 & 10 - 3 items
  • Year 11 & 12 - 5 items

These limits do not include digital borrowing such as audiobooks.

How long can I keep the item?

Items can be kept for up to two weeks.

What happens if I lose/destroy a book?

Students are responsible for items they borrow.

It is expected that the items are returned in the state they were borrowed in.

If the item is lost or no longer useable students are expected to pay for the cost of replacement or repair.

However, special or unusual circumstances are taken into account when the responsiblity of cost is issued.

Please speak to the Teacher Librarian about any concerns.
